OK, so we’ve all gotten into bed with someone we really shouldn’t have at some point in our lives. But the crucial difference between our drunken dalliances and the barely believable ConLib coalition, is that the people of the UK hadn’t put their faith in us to simply have a few quiet pints and go home alone.
For LibDem supporters, the election outcome is like seeing your partner shack up with your worst enemy, and then assure you that it’s all for the best because they’re going to sort out a way for you to hook up with loads of other people instead. Hmmm, this analogy is losing its way a bit, so let’s move on.

Mangled metaphors aside, the point is that some Airsiders are jolly annoyed that their support for Nick Clegg and his party has put the man with the moon-face in the master bedroom at 10 Downing Street. And when we get angry, we design t-shirts.
These are a few of our efforts to express our exasperation at recent events. As Airside Shop is still undergoing renovation, it is unlikely we’ll actually make these t-shirts, but we thought we’d share them with you anyways.

Airside was recently commissioned to design a t-shirt for Central London studio space, Mount Pleasant Studios. With a regular stream of film industry professionals flowing through their studios every day, Mount Pleasant Studios wanted to create a gift they could give to their clients as a thank you for using their space, which would also advertise their services. Reasoning that riggers, gaffers, cameramen and the rest of the crew working indoors under hot lights tend to wear short sleeves, they figured a t-shirt was a good idea.
But the t-shirt needed to be more than just a company logo. Mount Pleasant Studios wanted a design that crew members would love wearing no matter where they were, as well as having some reference to film production. Airside’s t-shirt achieved that with a double-sided design. The front shows a typical movie monster rampaging through the city of London, while the back reveals the reality behind film’s smoke and mirrors – the sets and the production crew who create movie magic in places like Mount Pleasant Studios.

The t-shirts have been refolded, the prints have been rerolled, the boxes are returned to the basement.  The cakes crumbs have been swept up and fed to the birds, the sticky splashes of spilt Air-cider have been wiped from the floor, and the fleeting wonder that was the Airside Pop-up Shop, has once more become a mere meeting room.
Thanks to everyone who came to see us on Friday and Saturday. As an online shop, we’ve become accustomed to minimal interaction with our customers, so it was really great fun to meet all you Airside Shoppers. We must do it again sometime. In the meantime, keep your eyes peeled for the all-new airsideshop.com – coming soon!

We are officially very excited about tomorrow’s opening of Airside: The Pop-Up Shop. Our shop manager Natalie has worked her bump off to transform our meeting room into a brilliant bazaar packed with t-shirts, prints and other assorted goodies. Here’s a sneak peek at the fruits of her labour, as our little Pop-Up Shop bathes in the glorious evening sunshine.
Airside: The Pop-Up Shop opens tomorrow at 11am. There will be music, prize draws, cake, our infamous Air-Cider and much more going on throughout the day, until 8pm. We hope to see you there, but if you can’t make it tomorrow, we’re also open on Saturday. Don’t forget everything must go, so expect bargains and giveaways galore. Full details here.

Our new Airplot t-shirt was recently spotted at its spiritual home. The photos below show both t-shirts, as modelled by Greenpeace’s finest, at the Airplot site itself. Airplot is a small piece of land that sits in the middle of the proposed site for Heathrow Airport’s third runway.
You can back the campaign to stop airport expansion by signing up to be a beneficial owner of the land. And now you can show your support with the official Airplot Campaign t-shirt, exclusively available from Airside Shop. For every t-shirts sold, £2 of the price will go to Greenpeace.

Poor Wac Mon, it’s difficult living with such a famous brother.

Show him you care and buy his t-shirt (lovingly created by Airside’s Chris Rain).

crowd.jpg

On Friday we stumbled in from the pub just in time to catch the latest episode of the third series of Channel 4 sitcom The I.T. Crowd.

And in the middle of an excellent episode where Roy and Moss attempt to ingratiate themselves with some football fans and end up taking part in an armed robbery, we spotted our Battle Royale Girl t-shirt being worn by actor Chris O’Dowd.

We were well chuffed to see our classic design on screen, especially when we discovered that the t-shirt features on their PR campaign as well.

Roy’s choice of t-shirts has become a feature of the show since it began. There’s even a blog dedicated to sourcing all the tees he wears on the show.

chumps2.jpg

The odds of this many Airsiders all wearing the same tee on
the same day are pretty slim, but clearly Al Murphy’s superb
tee for Airside Shop
laughs in the face of probability.

Either way, these guys look like complete chumps.

Credit Crunch

Things have been a little quiet on our blog of late, because frankly, we have no time for such frivolities anymore here at Airside.

Oh no, the credit crunch has put paid to that.

We’re now all so in fear of losing our jobs that we have to work at least 25 hours a day. Without breaks.

Consider the sad fate of the unwitting business people shown above. They thought they were just in for a planning meeting. Next thing they know, they’re out on their ear.

In a bid to avoid a similar end, we have depicted them on our latest T-shirt, Credit Crunch, available as usual for your purchasing pleasure from the Airside Shop.
