Fiat eco:Drive
The Brief
Fiat's new eco:Drive technology is the world's first in-car device that allows drivers to monitor how much CO2 their driving creates. Airside was initially commissioned by AKQA to create an animated short, Ciao!, to introduce the eco:Drive technology and to demonstrate how it can be used to reduce emissions.Our Solution
Though our initial commission was to make a introductory short film, the job quickly expanded into the creation of eco:Drive’s visual branding.Airside designed the world of eco:Ville and the characters who populate it, including the memorable duo of Franco and Merv, and directed and produced a film that became a crucial element of the eco:Drive story.
Our designs were so successful that these visual assets were incorporated into the eco:Drive software, while our work for the online eco:Ville community helped communicate the details and benefits of the raw data produced by the software.
As the eco:Drive campaign progressed, Airside was commissioned to produce three further animated films and develop new visual assets for use in the in-car software, online resources and promotional material.
