London-based bakers Konditor & Cook approached Airside to help revamp their online presence. Their previous website was a staid Flash-based cake catalogue that didn't reflect the adventurous and original side of the company. Beyond this observation, Konditor & Cook did not have an exact brief. Instead the content and design for the website was developed over a series of meetings and workshops with Airside.

Following on from Airside's refresh work for the Konditor & Cook brand identity , we felt their website redesign should incorporate these design elements. Therefore the look of the new website was already established.

We felt the content of the website should do more than sell cakes, it should also strengthen the Konditor & Cook brand. We proposed focusing the site on the activities of their six London stores and their seasonal, event-based and topical cake designs. Konditor & Cook had a large photo archive of their cake creations and in-store events, so we set up a K&C Flickr page to host these images.

In order to promote the individual store's daily lunch menus, we set up K&C Twitter feeds for each of the outlets where this information could be posted. The Flickr and Twitter feeds were compiled into a more substantial and informative Blog, to form the main content of the new site.

The new site now highlights Konditor & Cook's latest products, offers and events, and is easy for their staff to update.
