Airside was commissioned to make two short films for Live Earth, Al Gore's climate change awareness event, which took place across the world in July 2007.

All of the commissioned film-makers were provided with a list of specific points that should be demonstrated and given the single brief that their films should address climate change in some way.

Our two films took different approaches to the brief: A Beginner's Guide To Giving A Damn was created to inform as a tongue-in-cheek public information film; whilst Penguin in a Pickle was a more poetic, even melancholy, look at what global warming could do to one particular penguin residing at the South Pole.

Airside was also asked to design a Live Earth t-shirt to commemorate the event.

Both films were broadcast to over 500 million people worldwide during Live Earth (July 7th, 2007) and have since been screened by various T.V. networks and film festivals, including Edinburgh and Los Angeles.

"Working and collaborating with Airside was both an inspiration and an absolute pleasure. I didn't want it to end and when it did I wanted to do it all again. Airside are brilliant, clever and innovative - if only all companies could be like this to work with the world would be a better place."

Astrid Edwards, Producer for Live Earth
