
Virgin Trains wanted to create TV commercials to convey the message that their trains put energy back into the National Grid. The client approached Airside with a simple starting point: a train track going up the middle of the frame. They asked Airside to create the world through which the trains travel, as well as delivering the energy-saving message with impact.

The look of the animations is clean and graphic with a limited colour palette, which reflects with Virgin Trains’ branding. The typography is devised to deliver the message energetically, yet be easy to read as we zoom through the landscape.

Following the success of the first set of commercials, we completed a second series a few months later.
